Farmland: The ideal High Yield Investment

| January 17th, 2012 | No Comments »

Whilst many people look at farmland investing as an inflation hedge, they may not realize the farmland can also be an excellent high yield investment as well.  For example, GreenWorld’s  farmland investment in Africa. This investment in rice farmland in Sierra Leone recently paid a 16.2pc dividend, prooving that its target for dividends of 15pc per annum was spot-on. Farmland prices in Africa start from a very low base, and there have been quite a few institutional investors such as pension funds and University endowments looking at farmland investments in Africa.  In this environment of low interest rates, farmland can be quite an intriguing high yield investment.  Please feel free to contact us at info@greenworldbvi.com for full details on our three farmland investment options.

Jim Rogers Slams Marc Faber on China, Commodities

| December 5th, 2011 | No Comments »

Our favorite investor Jim Rogers has come out in sharp disagreement with fellow investor Marc Faber.  Faber recently commented that the economic crisis would have a strongly negative impact on commodities and that Rogers’ bullishness on the sector was misplaced.  Rogers fired back, stating that although there might be corrections in the commodities markets at times, the sector remained in a long-term, secular bull market.  Rogers has always been quite enamored of farmland as an investment, and as Green World are also heavily involved in the farmland sector, we were quite pleased to see Rogers defend his investment philosophy.  We offer three farmland investments noted below – feel free to contact us at info@greenworldbvi.com for more information. GreenWorld on Soros, Rogers and Farmland Investments

| December 2nd, 2011 | No Comments »

We are very pleased to say that we recently posted this article on Technorati.  As we have noted in these pages a number of times, both Jim Rogers and George Soros are extremely bullish on farmland as an investment.  As we have discussed many times, farmland investments are a great inflation hedge, they offer diversification, pay high current income and are a pure play on skyrocketing agricultural commodity prices.  GreenWorld currently offers three farmland investments: Farmland in Africa Farmlands in Europe Australian Farmland Feel free to contact us at info@greenworldbvi.com for more information.

Jim Rogers: Short Bonds and Buy Farmland Investments

| November 30th, 2011 | No Comments »

We just came across a very interesting recent interview from one of our top two or three favorite investors Jim Rogers.  In his own unique way, Mr. Rogers argues forcefully for why now is the ideal time to purchase agricultural farmland.  In the interview Rogers gives one of his best quotes and says “ Everybody who has second homes in Iowa would be rich because all the farmers are going to be stunningly rich. You want to buy a lake house, buy it in Iowa or Oklahoma. Don’t buy it in Massachusetts.”  You have to admire the twist he gives things!  I guess in the UK that means one should buy property in rural England rather than London.  Rogers argues forcefully for shorting US bonds, and believes that the future belongs to Asia.  GreenWorld BVI are just happy to be on the right side of Mr. Rogers’ beliefs with our three farmland

More Hedge Funds Make Farmland Investments

| November 29th, 2011 | No Comments »

It looks like more and more hedge funds are investing in farmland.  Hedge funds see farmland as an asset that provides an excellent hedge against inflation, as well as an asset class that has delivered superior long-term returns.   Many experts are predicting food prices will double in the next 10 – 20 years, and hedge funds are keen to follow this trend.  Whilst the future is impossible to know exactly, GreenWorld BVI is largely in agreement with these predictions and so are quite keen on our various farmland investment opportunities.  Between the rising food prices, population growth and the shrinkage of arable farmland in places like China due to development, the case for this asset class is extremely compelling.

Huge Pension Fund Allocates US$2 billion to Farmland Investments

| November 27th, 2011 | No Comments »

Part of the reason GreenWorld (BVI) is excited about our farmland investments is that large institutional investors are rapidly increasing allocations to agriculture investments  as well.  One of the clearest example of this is the giant US pension fund TIAA-CREF’s move into farmland investing in the last year.  TIAA-CREF manages retirement assets for teachers and the huge fund has allocated $2 billion to farmland investments.   As we at GreenWorld have said previously, it is always a wise thing to understand where the “smart money” of large institutional investors is going, and than consider if there are ways for individuals to also benefit from this trend.

High Dividend Yield Bamboo Investment

| November 23rd, 2011 | 3 Comments »

GreenWorld are very pleased to introduce one of our latest products.  This is a bamboo investment.  This bamboo investment pays high current income, which is ideal for savers and pensioners.  Bank savings rates are extremely low, and high dividend shares still still expose you to daily stock market risk.  However, if you invest in bamboo, you get the income of a dividend stock or high-yield bond, but without the daily fluctuations in the share price.  Furthermore, the market for bamboo products is expected to double in the next five years alone, as bamboo is used in everything from flooring to more mundane products such as hangars or coat racks and even in fiber.   Bamboo plants do not care about the latest results from the FTSE or the DOW, as they are alternative investments that are affected by very different factors than shares.  Feel free to check out our quick

Jim Rogers Plans Farmland Investments in Australia

| November 18th, 2011 | No Comments »

We came across an extremely interesting article here about how legendary investor Jim Rogers is planning to make major investments in farmland in Australia.  Given that GreenWorld has an Australia farmland investment ourselves, Rogers’ move caught our eye.  JimRogers is famous for writing a book called “The Investment Biker” in which he rode a motorcycle around the world whilst making investments in various emerging markets.  He has since made a fortune, and he has been extremely bullish about farmland investment opportunities for several years now.  GreenWorld is also extremely bullish on these kinds of agriculture investments, and we have long followed Jim Rogers’ comments on the subject of farmland investments.  Our Australian farmland investment is located in the the Western Australian wheat belt and pays both current  income as well as offering the opportunity for long-term capital gains due to the extremely inexpensive price of Australian farmland compared to farmland in Europe.

Farmland Investments by China in Australia

| November 16th, 2011 | No Comments »

We came across a very interesting article here detailing the extensive purchases by China of farmland in Western Australia.  GreenWorld offers a number of farmland investment opportunities, including one farmland investment in Australia.  GreenWorld has long stated that if there is an investment opportunity that involves trailing in China’s wake, it is well worth taking, and this is a clear example of that.  The Chinese farmland investments in Australia will inevitably drive up farmland prices in the region, making us particularly bullish on this investment we offer.

Jeremy Grantham: Farmland Investments Will Outperform All Global Assets

| November 7th, 2011 | No Comments »

Very interesting comments here from one of our top two or three favorite investment managers, Jeremy Grantham of GMO Asset Management.  Grantham expects farmland investments and forestry investment will outperform the general average of all investable assets over the long-term.  Grantham is a brilliant analyst and takes a long-term view of markets and investments.   He correctly noted both the overvaluation of markets in 2007 as well as the bottom in 2009, and we were extraordinarily excited when we came across his comment.  GreenWorld has found that there is high demand for both our bamboo investment as well as all of our farmland investments more broadly.
